“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
-Rainer Maria Rilke
Who am I?
Hannah: Princeton alum, former PiA fellow, expat, list-maker, traveler, food enthusiast
How did this all get started?
When I was six years old I transformed an old refrigerator box into a time machine, in hopes of traveling to see dinosaurs, or yet undiscovered future life forms. When my experiments in temporal tourism failed, I realized that I would have to be satisfied with the present world, but determined to explore as many of its fascinating corners as possible.
The primitive navigator on my original time machine.
What am I doing now?
Now, many years later, I am based in Vientiane, Laos, where I see, think, and explore through teaching, photography, writing, videography, and travel. This site is intended at once to be a personal multimedia portfolio, an armchair travel escape, and a glimpse into ex-pat life in Southeast Asia.
